Baseball Analytics Fellow

About the role

The Baseball Analytics Fellow will support Baseball Operations and Research & Development by preparing, analyzing, and communicating data‑driven insights that inform game strategy, player evaluation, scouting, and player development. This early‑career role is ideal for a technically skilled analyst with strong curiosity and a desire to apply quantitative methods to baseball challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and distributing advance scouting reports for upcoming opponents.
• Monitor daily lineups, roster moves, transactions, and league information to support game planning.
• Conduct ad‑hoc research to inform game strategy and compare players, teams, and situations.
• Prepare, validate, clean, and quality‑check data for modeling and reporting workflows.
• Support predictive modeling projects by engineering features, checking assumptions, and validating outputs.
• Develop visualizations, dashboards, and lightweight tools to disseminate analytical results.
• Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Maintain and QA internal datasets, reports, and recurring deliverables.

Required profile

• Early‑career analyst with strong technical aptitude and intellectual curiosity.
• Highly autonomous, frequent communicator, and effective at managing up.
• Comfortable working in fluctuating baseball‑season workflows and collaborating with analysts, coaches, scouts, and leadership.
