Backend AI-Forward Data Engineer

About the role

Greystar’s D2AI team is building the data foundation for the most AI‑advanced operator in global multifamily real estate. As a Backend AI‑Forward Data Engineer you will design, build, and operate the core data infrastructure that powers AI‑enabled products, analytics and decision‑making across a multi‑billion‑dollar portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, AI‑ready data pipelines and platforms.
• Ensure data accessibility, trustworthiness and readiness for AI applications across the Data Management Platform, MCP integrations and analytics tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics and business teams to deliver reliable and responsible AI solutions.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security and performance.

Required profile

• Strong fluency in AI concepts and experience at the intersection of data engineering and applied AI.
• Proven ability to partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver AI‑driven outcomes.
• Willingness to submit a short video demonstrating use of AI tools in your engineering workflow.
