Associate – Export & Agency Finance (LatAm Focus)

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking an Associate to join its Export & Agency Finance (EAF) team in the United States, focusing on Latin America and Multilateral Agency (MLA) financings. The role provides exposure to complex cross‑border transactions and close collaboration with clients, multilaterals, and internal stakeholders worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Support origination, structuring, and execution of EAF transactions, especially Latin America and MLA‑backed financings (e.g., IDB, IFC, CAF).
• Manage transactions end‑to‑end, from pitch preparation to closing, including presentations, term sheets, and credit materials.
• Build and maintain financial models, cash‑flow analyses, and profitability metrics.
• Coordinate with Coverage, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Markets, and Syndication teams across multiple geographies.
• Assist client relationship management by preparing pitchbooks and participating in client meetings in LatAm markets.
• Contribute to credit approval processes, due diligence, and transaction documentation.
• Monitor portfolio performance and stay updated on market trends, MLAs, ECAs, and geopolitical developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in structured finance, export finance, project finance, or corporate banking.
• Familiarity with Export Credit Agency (ECA) and Multilateral Agency financing structures.
• Professional fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) and strong English communication skills.
