About the role
Texas A&M AgriLife Research seeks an outstanding, innovative individual for a 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Forest Ecology and Modeling. The appointment is 100% research‑focused and will be based at the Blackland Research and Extension Center in Temple, Texas, with academic affiliation to the Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology at Texas A&M University.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program on forest sustainability, health, productivity, and marketability.
- Collaborate interdisciplinary across Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Extension, and the Texas A&M Forest Service.
- Conduct cutting‑edge forest ecology and ecosystem modeling studies.
- Contribute to applied forest science initiatives addressing ecological and economic shifts in Texas.
Required profile
- Outstanding, innovative, and dynamic researcher.
- Ability to build a self‑sustaining, collaborative research program.
- Experience in securing external research funding is essential.
