About the role
The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks an Assistant Professor to join its Social and Behavioral Sciences department. This tenure‑track position will focus on teaching undergraduate criminal justice courses and contributing to the department’s research agenda.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate criminal justice classes, including general education and specialized courses.
- Develop and deliver curriculum in areas such as policing, law, legal practice, and research methods.
- Engage students in undergraduate research projects.
- Provide in‑person instruction on the UAM campus; online teaching experience is highly desirable.
- Maintain active scholarship aligned with department strengths.
Required profile
- Doctorate in Criminal Justice or a closely related field (ABD candidates or master’s holders may be considered at the instructor level).
- Demonstrated teaching or research experience in policing, law, legal practice, research methods, or related areas.
- Interest in mentoring undergraduate research.
- Ability to begin duties in August 2026.
