About the role
The Assistant Director, Training & Development will lead the design, delivery, and management of training and professional development programs for research compliance staff and faculty across the Texas A&M University System. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures that training aligns with federal and state regulations while supporting the system’s mission of education, research, and service.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver in‑person and virtual training on IACUC, IBC, IRB, financial conflict of interest, and research misconduct.
- Supervise a team responsible for creating training materials and coordinating professional development events.
- Develop and maintain asynchronous training modules on system‑wide platforms accessible to faculty and compliance staff.
- Plan and execute conferences, workshops, and other professional development activities with minimal supervision.
- Prepare budget estimates for training programs, including virtual and on‑site events.
- Communicate regularly with system members to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update digital assets such as the office website, listserv, and newsletters.
Required profile
- Proven experience in managing training or professional development programs, preferably in a research compliance or higher‑education environment.
- Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to develop budgets and manage resources effectively.
