Adhesive Dispensing Engineer – Technical Support

About the role

Sika’s Automotive and Industry team in Madison Heights, MI is seeking an Adhesive Dispensing Engineer to provide technical support for customers and develop robust dispensing strategies for bulk adhesive and sealant products. This role focuses on equipment compatibility, lab testing, and on‑site assistance rather than IT functions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and equipment vendors to verify product compatibility and define new equipment requirements.
• Guide customers on proper equipment selection and validate applications through lab testing and dispensing trials.
• Support R&D by documenting existing application methods and working with vendors to create new processes.
• Conduct customer site visits, deliver technical service reports, and maintain safe lab environments.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with equipment suppliers and provide training to customers and internal staff.
• Represent Sika at specialized fairs and conferences; travel up to 30% for customer support and product launches.

Required profile

• B.S. degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred; Mechanical or Electrical acceptable).
• Strategic thinking and project‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate technical information clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Fundamental PLFanuc programming.
• Experience with SAP.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (preferred).
